[It may be cold, but right now that's only a bonus. It's already a relief on her skin, and he's barely done anything yet.
And then he talks about taking better care of herself, and she snorts.] Yeah, you definitely would. [So it's a good thing he doesn't say anything like that, or she would be honor-bound to bring up little things like that one time she found him in the process of collapsing from injuries in his apartment, or those unhappy-looking knuckles.] I didn't expect to be outside as much as I was.
[He keeps his touches light and fast, being liberal with the gel. She was more 'on fire' than usual and it threw his senses off a little bit, but the excess heat defined her outline better than what he was used to sketching out.] It'll heal in a few days. But you should rest at home.
[When he was finished he moved around to sit in front of her, checking to see if she'd been burnt anywhere else. He couldn't 'see' it as clearly with her whole body covered in red. His fingertips trailed from the top of her arms slowly down to the back of her fingers, reading her skin like braille. Curling his fingers around the outer halves of her hands, he squeezed lightly before rubbing his thumbs over her palms, working the tension out between each of her slender fingers.] Let me take care of you tonight.
It's not that bad. [It's not really an objection, and there's not much conviction behind it (especially when he's massaging her hands and that just feels really nice, okay). But a sunburn doesn't rank all that high on the list of things that require a friend hanging around and doing things for you. Not that it isn't nice, just - she feels compelled to point out that he doesn't need to spend the time on her tonight. Especially when he's had... other priorities lately.]
[He rubbed the top of her palms a little harder, leaving a sort of pleasant tiredness lingering in her hands as he slowly worked his way up each finger.] Well I was going to offer to stay and do the rest of your body, but if you'd rather I leave after dinner, I'll go.
[That had him snickering and chuckling softly.] My mistake. I must have misheard. [This is nice, this settling back into something comfortable that wasn't fighting or arguing or trying to tiptoe around each other.] Can I convince you to eat something first?
We’ll eat first then. [And by ‘we’ it’ll be mostly Foggy unless she nagged encouraged him to eat more, seeing as he mostly came here to offer his various non-legal services.] And I’ll pick up where I left off while you’re finishing your beer. [And maybe, just maybe, amidst the joking around and small talk, a bit of semi-serious conversation will happen while he’s half-distracted with his head down rubbing the aching out of those hollow spaces under her ankles.]
