[In hindsight, it would have been better to wait until never Foggy wasn't still dealing with the aftermath of her night with the jar full of money. But the room was getting really crowded with elephants of all sizes and sooner or later they were going to trample all over the two lawyers. Best address them now.

Matt was holding the door open, not quite sure what to say so he just gestured towards the living space and followed behind her. Without asking he got Foggy some water and set it down.]

Are you sure you want to do this now? It can wait until you've had some rest.

No, but we already started it. [If they stop now, she might not be able to try having this conversation again.

She sits down and starts fiddling with the water glass instead of drinking from it.] ...So.

[No matter what happened, Foggy would forever be a familiar shape not only in his home but in his mind as well. Matt was aware of her loyalty and he'd always loved her for it but lately it had begun to feel as if he was abusing it. He was fine but like he said she deserved better.]

You didn't tell me about the offer. Why?

[She sighs and sits back, water glass cradled in her lap.] I'm not going to take it, so it didn't really matter.

Foggy. [There's a pause and Matt licks his lips, a bit at a loss for words. What's there to say? Does he want her to leave? No, of course not. But he doesn't want her to stay in a losing situation until it is too late to get out. He doesn't mind if he goes down but he does care about her.]

I hear it's a really good offer. Maybe you should think about it. I mean really think.
